But today was the biggest day of Jonathan Sexton's life as he exchanged vows with childhood sweetheart, teacher Laura Priestly.

The newly-weds were surrounded by family, friends and Sexton's Ireland and Leinster team-mates as they said 'I do'.

Sexton (28) arrived at the Holy Trinity Abbey Church in Adare, Co Limerick, accompanied by his best man, brother Mark, as well as his groomsmen, brother Jerry and cousin Roy, at 1:30pm.

He was dressed in a three-piece grey suit by Dublin designer Michael Barry, with a silver tie and white lillie button hole.

Sexton drove into the church car park in his VW 4x4, with a 'Mr and Mrs Sexton' registration plate.

And for a groom on the morning of his wedding, he looked surprisingly calm.

His mother Clare Sexton arrived at 1:15. She wore two-tone raw silk peach dress with a matching wide-brimmed straw hat.

The church was decked out with green and white flowers which the couple had arranged.

With temperatures hitting 26 degrees, wedding planners ordered in two large coolers with chilled bottles of water for guests as they waited in the church before the service.

Leinster back row Devin Toner was one of the first team mates of the groom to arrive. He turned out with his girlfriend Mary Scott.

Kevin McLaughlin, Andrew Trimble and Isa Nacewa were shortly behind, with Cian Healy strolling in hand in hand with model girlfriend Holly Carpenter.

Ireland and Leinster's Brian O'Driscoll was flying solo today, as his actress wife Amy remained with their four-month-old daughter Sadie.

Rob Kearney came with his brother Dave, Dave's girlfriend Hayley Ryan, Fergus McFadden and Ian Madigan.

The bride arrived on time at 2pm.

Laura (27) looked radiant, wearing a 1920s style cream gown from Dublin boutique Myrtle Ivory.

The triple silk design had a plunging neckline.

She wore her hair up, accessorised with a diamant? headband and white lillie bud.

The three bridesmaids wore sea floor length dresses, with Lillies in their hair.
