Former Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club rider races to 4th at Wold Cup

? Former Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club snowboarder Justin Reiter picked up some confidence, along with a fourth-place finish at a World Cup in Bad Gastein, Austria, on Friday afternoon.

It was Reiter?s best World Cup finish since 2008, when he placed third in a parallel giant slalom event in Valmalenco, Italy.

?This is a really good confidence builder for Justin,? coach Thedo Remmelink said. ?I?m hoping this is the first step in his real comeback.

Austria?s Andreas Prommegger topped Italy?s Roland Fischnaller in the big finals to win the parallel giant slalom event. Reiter advanced to the small finals, where he fell to Slovenia?s Zan Kosir to finish fourth overall. Remmelink said the finish was a good sign for Reiter, who is coming off a pair of NorAm victories at races in Minnesota last week.

Reiter was one of two American riders in the event. Steamboat Springs? Michael Trapp finished 12th in the final standings.
